    Home more important than price

I sold my tb for a lot less than she was worth. However she needed an experianced rider and I kept getting numptys coming to see her (despite explaining she needed an experianced rider in the advert). This dragged on for months but then one lady came to see her and she got on with her so well...

    Flash Nosebands

QR This this a bit unfair. How do you know that everybody you see at local shows hasn't put a flash on their horse for a good reason? Lots of people use flashes because lots of horses open their mouths when jumping and try and tow their riders into a fence. The flash stops a horse opening its...

Let's start a debate... Why are horses so much more "naughty"

I have only been riding and had horses for the last 5 years but I think to suggest that things have deteriorated in such a bad way is an exaggeration. For example, when I stated learning to ride (so 2002/3) I went on galloping hacks in big groups and hacked down busy A-roads, including...

    Anyone know these books??

I have the jumping schooling and dressage ones so I would say I am a fan! They are very useful if I'm stuck for something to do in the school The schooling and dressage books both cater for all levels of horse and rider and are both brilliant. I would say the dressage one probably contains...

    Baileys Lo-Cal Balancer

I think it's fantastic - a lot cheaper than a lot of balencers. I feed it to my idxtb who can get a bit chubby in summer but looses a bit of condition in winter with lots of alpha-a oil and he looks fantastic. Mum's porkey cob also gets it just so she's getting the right nutrients. I would...

    Treeless saddles - advice please

I have the phoenix so I would recommend that! They have just brought a new one out so now the older ones have come down in price by about £200 on the EE website. It's very comfy and I find it fine to jump in, although it took a little bit of getting used to at first.

    Does a horse......

I think it depends - if he's not going to be a top dressage horse and you think you may sell him one day then I think it's worth teaching him to jump just because he would probably be easier to sell in the future. However if you're keeping him for life and never plan on jumping yourself, then...

Transition between ponies and horses , why is it so difficult ?

I think it's because when a pony misbehaves, because of the height differece, children don't see it as a problem. Horses are bigger and when they misbehave its scarier. If a 14.2 ran off with me I wouldn't be very bothered, but if it's 16.2 then I find it a lot more nerve-wracking!!!! I was...

Those of you who've had knee ligament injuries...

How long till you could ride again? And did you start off in a brace? I am recovering from ACL reconstruction surgery, 2 weeks ago but my Medial ligament has been pinned too and I have a meniscal tear. I'm getting very frustrated about not being able to ride. The last couple of days I've been...
