Horses and having children on yards....thoughts?

We have children on our yard from less than 2 upto 15 year olds, and to be honest the older ones can be the worst! We are quite lucky that our ladies who bring their children to the yard watch them closely and do not let them run riot. I have a 6 year old son and very rarely does anyone...

Hi ladies and gents Can anyone tell me the difference in sizes on the below We always get hayledge at £20 a round bale, and straw at £15 a round bale. We are looking at moving yards but the supplier will charge a fortune to deliver, the farmer next door has said he does big round hay...

Is this a really stupid idea - buying a youngster

I had very very little experience with youngsters, I went out and got a 2 yo rescue cob, rescued from a quarry, gelded and passported and then got him from the people who rescued him for less than £200. best thing I have ever done, he will make 15hh approx. he is so quiet and calm and loving, he...

when he came he was more 2, now I would say he is between 4 and 5 :) depending on how he is stood you can slightly see some ribs, hence the vet saying a bit more until January then we will re-assess his diet!

Before & after pictures - rescue ponies

Thanks for your reply, I do really appreciate your concern and I am sorry to hear about your Shetland but he definitely is not overweight. I shouldn't have to post pictures of him stood up properly to prove this, this isn't what my post was about. It was about how far he has come and how much...

Before & after pictures - rescue ponies

How can I delete my post? I'm sick of getting notifications now of useless comments. I posted because I'm very proud of my horse, he came from a bad place and he is now in a very good one. What happened to if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say it at all? Absolute nonsense and just...

Before & after pictures - rescue ponies

Hmm I wish I agreed with everything that everyone wrote on here but sadly I don't. The same vet put my neighbours horse on a different diet to lose weight, as a TB it had a huge gut and was overweight. We tie in yard visits, surely everyone on the yard cant be wrong about our vet? we all love...

Before & after pictures - rescue ponies

I thought the same, but from behind his bottom is still very square, I think his position on the black and white photo doesn't do me any favours. But I am very proud with how far we have come, and how well he has done. He also has a very petite head, something the girls and guys round here are...
