The advert said he was a chestnut 🤔 Tongue in cheek post to cheer me up for my bad decisions in taking him in the school right after bathing him 🤦‍♀️ 😭 In my defence the surface doesn’t usually stick so thoroughly 😂

Mine looks like a motheaten old carpet 😭 been moulting for a good month now and still another to go by the look of him. Next year he’s getting full clipped in Feb 😖

That might have been the awful noise that flew over my house at 9pm last night. God knows what my horse would have made of it but glad I wasn’t sat on him!

I use their recovery mash. One of the few molasses free feeds my horse will eat anything in and never get bored of (touch wood!)

Neighked do one but I haven’t tried it. I’ll follow this thread though as back in autumn I butchered my lad’s tail and it’s still absurdly short now 😭 hopefully anything that works on manes will help tails grow faster too.

Hoof armour is a good halfway house between barefoot and boots.

water buffet and herb garden? I’ve seen some people plant the herbs in an old trough or similar then put rigid wire mesh over it so when the herbs grow the horses can nibble the ends through the wire but don’t destroy the plants so they keep growing.

Hahaha my youngster also decided that ‘good boy’ means we’re done 😂 so I changed to an upbeat ‘good!’ And keep the good boys as an emergency handbreak lol

I bit the bullet and switched to horslyx, as like you say, just can’t maintain the stretch with a treat. I wouldn’t use broccoli, cruciferous vegetables can cause gassy colic.

With mine I use a combination. I let him look for his 12 seconds, then bring his attention back to me/ask him to do something he finds easy/treat. Sometimes it needs several rounds of this but eventually he will signal that he’s ready to continue. This is more for scary environments/scenarios...

How awful, I’m so sorry 💔 take care of yourself, and know that it wasn’t your fault. Accidents with horses can come out of absolutely nowhere.

I was defeated by the Horzehoods teal too. Trying not to look at the sparkly equestrian Stockholm ones. Sparkle is ridiculous, horse will be a laughing stock. No sparkles, no siree. 👀
