I hardly ever post, but I own a similarly hot Iberian (a lusitano). This is NOT the solution with fizzy little Iberians. The classical solution is SLOW SLOW SLOW. This allows them time to find their own balance, and when they are balanced they don't feel the need to go over bent. It has worked...
Sorry. I know this sort of question comes up a lot. But... I'm tall-5'10" and size14, so not skinny. I'm looking at a 3yo lusitano who is currently 15.3hh. I'd love it if he'd make 16.1hh. But accept that 16hh is more likely. Apparently he's still very baby looking.
What are your experiences...
Countryman- we were meant to have a visiting pack tomorrow and I doubt they'll come so I'd say hunting is unlikely. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
And you can see the brand on his quarters in this one (it's an R in a sheild) on reflection I don't know that any of the Portuguese studs brand necks only, if it's only one it is the quarters.
Some lusitano studs brand their foals on the necks as well as the off hind quarters. The Neck brand tends to refer to the year they were born and the number they were that year.
You can just about see Obelisco's brand on his neck in this one. It was very badly done though so very hard to decifer.
