Bute is ok, but just to warn you, a friend had a grey gelding on Bute (1 a day) over 2 months, and he developed bad ulcers in his stomach. This may be a rare occurrence, Im not totally sure. He was then put on Danilon, along with glucosamine and cortaflex. His conformation didnt help either...
What made you realise something was wrong? Did you note slight uni/bilateral lameness, poor hind-limb impulsion, or slight muscle atrophy (if there was any) first?
I think shell be ok, it sounds like they found it before it became a major problem. The steroid injections have a good performance...

Aw, thats so nice shes going to a good home! I no just how you feel, I just had so sell my mare (big warm blood), for financial reasons. But at least I know the home shes off to is a life home. And then shell be a brood mare, cant complain at that! x
