Thank you all for the advice it’s really appreciated!
My other half tried to distract him with treats but once I’d got the needle in I then had to go back to push the syringe down and of course the bronching started again. Even when I took it out he bronched!
The needle isn’t so much wide it’s...
Vet has just started my boy on Cartrophen and is currently on the once a week loading dose. She came out last week and did the first one. She showed me how to do it… tap tap jab and it looked pretty simple so I said I’d continue to do them myself.
It was my turn yesterday and it was not simple...
My dear old dog that I lost last year to lymphoma was in and out of the vets on a monthly basis (trying to find the diagnosis which unfortunately wasn’t discovered until a few weeks before she passed). Every time she went in it would cost between £1000 and £2000. That would be for an inpatient...
When mine was being investigated for his hocks the first port of call was Bosmerix. It’s quite expensive (I believe it’s the same price as Bute per sachet). I didn’t see any improvement with mine. The only thing that has worked is steroids in to the hocks but unfortunately they are starting to...
I used to live in South Bucks and had mine on full grass livery (this was quite some time ago!). There were only two yards that offered it back then and neither of which I would recommend if they are still around.
You might be better putting a wanted ad up on local Facebook groups, might be...
I have a 24 year old who I am desperately trying to stop the ageing process and failing. I’m not jealous of the younger ones, I just wish I could stop the ageing process so my old boy could be with me longer.
Live for now and enjoy your old boy ❤️❤️
Not painful in the slightest and I had to apply the paste pretty much every other day. Like I say it took a year of me doing that and it looked pretty nasty but it’s gone now.
I’ve attached the picture of what it looked like and what it looked like at its nastiest.
Mine had a pretty big one on his tummy. I did the sarcoid cure from Facebook and a year later it was gone and it’s never come back (that was four years ago). It wasn’t a pretty process but it cost me next to nothing and it has never come back so a win win for us!
I used to use Chiltern when I lived over that way, can’t say I’m surprised is all I will say.
Would also recommend Scott Dunn if anyone lives that way, my old vet works there now and she was brilliant with my old boy.
I would say it’s down to the flat genes as to why it happens so much.
If you look at photos of chasers/hurdlers from the 70’s and 80’s they were built like proper hunting horses and almost looked like Irish draught types. The jumping horses of today all look so fragile and I’m sure that has...
