Just had a re test for the insuling resistance. Last results were 900 (should be 85) now 400. Have increased the meforming to 6 tablets twice per day. was on 4 twice per day. At least it is going down.:)

Yes soaking hay for 30 mins. We feed the lowest sugar feed available which is a chaff with a few little nuts. its Dengie hi fi mollases free and is only 2% sugar. We feed this mainly to put his vits and tablets in. We found out that the chaff they had been using at the yard was 10.9%...

Has anyone ever had this issue. My pony is insulin resistant and is taking Metformin. Seems to be doing ok. However during the laminitus bouts he has had v bad muscle spasms. Physio thinks to do with the toxins from the laminitus. Vet says no way, but cannot come up with a reason for spasms...
