Sorry this did make me laugh a little. My smallest mare will stand on any type of hill. The bigger the better �� Which has also led to some tumbles. We just have to electric fence her away from them... including the muck heap!! Not the most useful but I have full sympathy for you.
When your car is full to the brim of clothing for every eventuality. No it is not tidy, but if I need to drive off into the sunset I have enough clothing to last me a week... or one day in English weather ��.

If you do the fitness work now, by the spring you will be able to enjoy long hacks or shows- whichever you prefer. I like to have aims, it keeps me going in the dark and the mud. Also there are no horse flies.. This makes me happy. Winter is tough but it has its perks.
I tend to stay quiet unless directly asked or the problem is actively hurting a horse. I often think in the horsey world it's not what people say but how they say it. Quite often ( yes I am generalising,) people who are great with horses and not so great with people. Things meant in good spirits...
I recently found that I am also overprotective. You have to trust that they will be able to manage your horse when your not around. If she was struggling to trot calmly in the school i would run for the hills... But then I have realised I am very precious and won't be having any sharers because...
People often talk about not clicking with their horse but I think this is the real definition of not clicking.

It seems like you have tried as best you can to get him sound again. I would pts. It's the responsible choice even if it's the one they may result in the most guilt for you. If he is a lami risk then even having him as a field pet is a tricky situation. It's a horrible situation I hope you have...
