    hard feed for mini shetlands?

so exciting day today - we are getting a pair of mini shetlands that are arriving later on today, about 7 o’clock :D They’re going to be living at home where we have 2 paddocks with very good grazing, the paddocks themselves aren’t very big but i’m still planning to section them at first so the...

two weeks into being barefoot, how long to give it?

My pony used to have shoes, cob x, took them off at the start of this winter because her winter field is so muddy she spent the majority of last winter off due to loosing shoes all the bl**dy time! So thought it was a good time to try barefoot. At first, she was a little sore on the yard wand...

Anyone struggling for motiviation and any tips??

I currently keep mine at livery and ride after I've mucked out, but recently been losing the motivation due to being absolutely frozen and fed up with the bad weather, but today was a nice sunny day (for once), yard was quiet and after schooling went for a little hack up the road and back in the...

help - good deal or not?

So purely out of interest I was looking through local equestrian properties for sale in my area, and I stumbled across a property which seems like my dream home! I have no plans to move, but this place really caught my eye. I've really no idea about how much it's worth though. 5 bedrooms...

    Which weight rug to buy?

Has he been rugged before you get him? If he hasn't been rugged before, then I would say just leave him naked, or put on a sheet if the weather gets nasty. If he was rugged before, then stick a rug on, for a cob type 100g should do just fine unless the weather is exceptionally bad. All this is...

Will it get better? Getting my pony to go forward

My pony was a bit like this when i first tried/ bought her. Very reluctant to listen to me AT ALL, always had to try and get away with doing as little as possible. It was very frustrating to say the least, but it was due to the fact that other ponies that I used to ride were quite push button...

    Big stable low roof?

So recently we converted an old outbuilding into a couple of stables, as this was far cheaper than buying materials, flat pack etc. I haven’t actually moved my horse (14.2) yet but I’m worried the roof may be to low. It measures 7ft2 at the lowest point and 8ft at highest (slight sloping roof)...

Where can I buy stables in Scotland?

Over the past few weeks, I've decided that the cost of keeping my horse livery (including costs of driving there + back) is just to much, so have decided to move her home onto my own land. However, I have absolutely no idea where to buy stables! I'm going to need 2 stables big enough for a 14.2...
