I think hireings are a fab idea, when you compare the cost of buying a ready made hunter then keeping it, a hireling has to be a no brainer for people with little time/inclination to buy their own - or only want to hunt every now and again......

If you have pots of cash you could look in to regenerative joint medicine like IRAP. Can be touch and go if it works and I think about 500 pounds a go - depends if you have money to spend. And perhaps try a good joint supplement, I am using Joint Active by YuMove by Lintbells with Green Lipped...
I'd say about 180 per month, we are in Surrey and that is about the going rate for a retirement type livery set up where the horse is out 24/7 but everything is done for you.

I have Cavallo sports boots on my TB type, they work well although they do look to be dying after about 9 months although I did get them on ebay with some light prior use :) overall they are good.
