Which Eventing Stallion would you choose?

As others have said you really need to assess your mare and decide what you need to improve/balance and what you want from the foal. I have a gorgeous 6 month old colt by Sula Blue. My mare is ISH with a bit of WB. She can jump the moon and is incredibly careful but quite stuffy. Sula Blue...

    Being Brave.

I am normally just a lurker but am posting because like everyone else I think selling him would be a serious mistake. I have two little boys and know all about maternal/equine guilt. However it is still really early days for you. When my second son was 7 months old I found a babysitter I...

Advice on what to feed yearling

She does look pretty grotty. If I hadn't had a bad experience before I would be feeding her!!

Advice on what to feed yearling

Thanks. That is the theory I have been working on but she looks pretty awful and people (including vet) are starting to tut! However, I worry that if I feed her, even if nothing goes wrong long term, she'll look just as bad and grow even more huge!

Advice on what to feed yearling

I have a homebred WB (with quite a bit of TB) who is 15 months. She has always been enormous and is very tall and rangey. She was weaned at 10 months and is appropriately wormed etc. Although she has always looked a bit poor, I have held off feeding her as I lost one youngster as they...

ROR showing experts - please advise!

Grrr, that is stupid. I thought the idea was to deter pros. These two classes are the only 2 showing classes I've ever done!!

ROR showing experts - please advise!

Humblepie - that's a pain, it was quite low key and not a listed qualifier - I suspect we will look green and grass in the big boys class but it is really just a day out with a bonus of a county show entry so it doesn't really matter!

ROR showing experts - please advise!

Thanks both. BePositive I don't think they judge on whether they are a riding horse or a hunter, rather on their suitability for being retrained for a life after racing - but could be wrong!

ROR showing experts - please advise!

I have entered a couple.of ROR classes at local shows and now fancy entering a couple of county shows (just for fun). I have studied the schedules and ROR website and am confused! Please help! Show 1 is a Tattersal and ROR show class - hickstead qualifier. Show 2 has this AND a Jockey Club...

    Neck strap allowed?

Absolutely - I am never without one (good enough for WFP, good enough for me)!

Review of Micklem Bridle - Day one

The multi bridle is cheaper so I know people who have just chopped the nose ring off with bolt cutters - hey presto a competition bridle! Ps love mine too!

Help - advice about 'leaping' ex-racer

Thanks I tried a combination of advice today (voice, varying what pace/when and a standing - although appreciate some advised against) and she did try it but did back off when she hit the martingale albeit was very jumpy! Not sure what has changed - she'd been in a month or so before starting...
