We went for a gorgeous hack today during my long lunch break, was happily mooching along a road with a hugeee long queue of traffic behind me (including the groom from my yard) all giving me evils.
Horse decides to stop right there and then to do his business - right in front of a bus stop...
Everybody seems to be raving about straw - but I prefer shavings! The pony I used to loan was on straw and although it looked lovely it was smelly and he had an awful cough. My horse is on shavings + rubber mats and it is clean, plus I feel that I can breathe when I go in the stable!

Horsey as I don't consider myself experienced enough to deal with emergency situations, and I want the best care possible for my horse. They are also useful for riding problems.

A completely different situation obviously, but just an example of how horses can cope with...
My instructor is a very good friend of mine, so only charges me £15 and hour for a private lesson on my own horse. At the local riding school it would be £18 for half an hour group, that's all I had so I'm not sure about other types of lesson.
Me and instructor looked into these when I didn't have a saddle but I was unimpressed. For starting a young horse they are possibly quite useful, but they do not have the support of other saddles and are just basically bareback pads.
Work evenings and weekends as I go to college. Mum pays for the insurance and my phone contract but I pay for everything else. I ticked the pot noodles box!
