Hi guys!
Today I took one of our three yr old stallions, MFSS ZEGEINERKNABE (the 3rd pony in my siggie) to Carls yard for a lesson. I was very nervous, as it was not only his first ever lesson, but also his first trip in a trailer and first ride in an indoor school!

I am glad to say he did us proud, and behaved superbly!
He worked beautifully in a soft round outline, while Carl helped with his transitions, and gave me some idea of what his training should consist of whils he is still developing.

Carl liked him a lot, first of all saying he thought he looked more like a four yr old, and thinks he will be HUGE eeeek! He also commented on how well balanced he is for his age, and how trainable/rideable he looked. He thinks that what I have done so far is good, so that is encouraging too..

We hope to take him back for another lesson after the covering season is over so Carl can help us to prepare for next years young horse classes!

He is a lovely looking horse, and I have to say I agree with Carl, I would have never thought he was a three year old. He looks quite mature in your signature!

I have a lesson booked with Spencer on my 5 year old in two weeks time, and I am extremely nervous for very similar reasons. Grace has never been in an indoor before and I have not had a new trainer for a long time. I find it nerve wracking riding in front of a new person, especially one as experienced as Spencer, but if I am going to get anywhere with Grace I am just going to have to conquer my nerves and just go for it!

How big is he now?

Glad you had a great lesson!

I'm always on such a high after a good lesson LOL. All your horses look lovely. What level are you working at with the horse in the middle of your sig?

God, and he has some growing to do too! Get yourself on a rack!!!

I've just been to look on the website in your signature too, there is a very nice mare for sale at your place!

I have heard nothing but good things about Spencer, so I am hoping it will be good experience for us both (as in Grace and me

). I also hope he will be 100% honest and tell me whether he thinks she is any good or not. I feel that she is, but someone like him will be able to see through all the babyish behaviour and tell what horse she will make in a year or two.

becki2003- That would be good! Are you going to their yard?

poppypony- its a long story with the name... the horses have all been named after roses in the last few yrs.. zegeunerknaber, raubritter, brown velvet, bossa nova, baron de rothschild etc etc

No, he comes up and does a clinic for us poor folk 'up north'

I would love to be able to have regular lessons with someone like that, but I just don't have the time to drive all the way down there at the moment. I am going back to college (going to be a perpetual student with that many letters after my bloody name!) and working full time in a restaurant to help my husband with the mortgage and to keep my two ponies (16.2hh and 17hh

)

I have just booked a lesson with a lady called Jo Graham this week who is a BD judge as I am hoping to affiliate asap on Grace. Then I can have Spencer once a month when he comes up.

Wow 74%!

I think I must be a member of the "not that tall clique" as well! I'm 5ft5 and my horse is 16.3hh. I always have to put the stirrups up about 7 holes after my instructor has ridden my horse!!

Good Luck in your first elementary!

your horses all look gorgeous,i love the middle one but the three year old looks great too and v mature for his age.

i would be interested in them if they were nearer but i have no decent AI vets in my area.

your horses look fab...
(*whispers* you're not allowed to have siggies which have websites on...especially as you are offering services and horses for sale...against T&C's)

Wow! I half expected this thread to be a joke, but I see it isn't!

Your horse's all look fantastic and I'm stunned that Znoopy has only recently been backed! Your yard website looks very professional too.

My dream would be a lesson with Spencer or Carl, but must admit I'm not sure how productive my lesson with Carl would be!

Lets just say I may be just a tad star struck!!

At Badminton last year, I was happily enjoying a Pimms in the sunshine

My friend nodded to me as though there was someone I knew behind me...

I turned, and was looking Carl Hester in the eye!!!!!!! I now know that phrase "my jaw dropped" is based on a genuine physical condition!

He looked at me and giggled as I stood rooted to the spot!

How embarrasing!!!

Wow, a 3 year old looking like that! Sounds like he tried really hard for you!

Just out of interest how much work does you 3 year old do a week? Just out of interest as I have a 3.5 year old, completely different type of neddy but still.
