Cat C1 can be done for about £1000. Allows you to drive upto 7.5 ton. Test is done in a van basically so is very easy.
Cat C is hgv rigid upto 32ton. Done in a vehicle about 12ton so a bit tougher but pretty much same price as C1.
Trailer training and test about £500 quid.
I've done...
When did you pass your test? If it was very recently you may not even be able to whatever the sums.
Just seen your edit. Rules changed I think in Jan 2013 where you could only tow 750kg
Fair enough. Not sure what to suggest other than to say there's only so many different shaped horses in the world so there must be something out there to fit eventually
Like another poster I'm surprised that you're buying a saddle for a share horse. One that presumably at some point you may no longer share.
Why isn't the owner trying to sort this?
Using the horses own language when you work with them goes to re-enforcing your place at the top of the pecking order. I do little bits with my horse every day and occasionally do roping sessions on their own. It's a valuable tool for bolshy horses and a top tactic for tricky loaders
That's how I do it. I was taught how to rope him first and use body language to tell him to go the other way. It's easy once you know how but I couldn't explain in words lol.
Id reccomend watching some videos by Jason webb if you can
Well the first yard I left because the stable kept flooding and the yard owner wouldn't even acknowledge request to fix the leaks so one day I tacked up for a hack and left.
Didn't even bother mucking out or tidying anything up 😂
I think everyone saying a trailer is so much cheaper is a bit misleading. If you already have and run a 4 X 4 then it may hold true.
For me I drive an awful lot of miles in my car every year. I have a small petrol engine car for this. To upgrade and run a 4x4 as my only car would cost me a...
I bought a 7.5 ton a few months ago. Paid 5.5k for a 95 plate lorry in great condition. Running costs are very reasonable in my mind. Plating is about £130 a year. Servicing only needs doing infrequently if you're a low mileage leisure user.
Plenty of benefits over a smaller box especially the...
I wear Ariat Bromonts. Had my pair for nearly three years and they are only just showing signs of wear along the seam of the zip/stretch panel bit
But uncomfortable to start with but once broken in they are great
