Looking for a dressage saddle for a really short back fjord horse - tree length only 38 cms/15” (I can fit into a 16” seat). Chamber MW/adjustable. Any recommendations on brands/models are welcome - local fitter doesn’t have any on hand that short
One of ours also tend to get loose droppings - it can change in a day if the weather changes, heavy rain, cold spell etc. What works for us a mix of good haylage and very dry hay (bad batch of haylage will throw him off too), electrolytes every day - both for keeping the balance but also to stay...
Been there, you need to find a saddle that fit both you and the horse. I went for a Prestige, but would probably get a Passier Optimum II now. All Passiers have a very flexible and adjustable tree and a lovely seat
Bought the fairly new Mazda CX-60, quite happy with that so far. It's a hybrid with towing mode, so I can go to and from work fully electric, and tow with the engine. I had a GLC for years before that - super expensive in diesel, but tows well. I know a few people with the Tiguan, who've had it...
Felt exactly the same way. Making that decision for an animal puts us in a position of power over life and death, which is really uncomfortable. I have put two down for all the right reasons, still regret that it was necessary. Reason and emotion are completely out of sync...
Need help from a process engineer or similar! ;-)
We are at a yard where we organise feed ourselves per horse. Each stall has a small closed box in front where feed is kept, but yard rule is that it has to be measured for each meal with everything that goes into the horse's meal - feed...
Just realised that a lot of riders adjust feed and supplements for overnight shows -which we don’t. They get extra mash otherwise everything is the same, and I don’t think they exactly need anything else. I was just wondering if we could support more, f.ex muscle soreness, restititution, maybe...
I’ll def have the trailer checked out but would not think that’s the cause initially - it’s a 3 yo IFW HBX 511, which runs as steady as an iron, and our other horse goes to snooze mode the moment we drive off. You never know about the sounds in the trailer though, wind whistling etc
Our 8 yo TB showjumper is very good at loading, will go in on his own and stands still while closing up. He is otherwise well-behaved, rides well, healthy and shows no stereotypical behaviour stabled. After about 20 minutes of driving he will start weaving and throwing his head around in the...
It varies, he can go clear and placed one day, and eliminated the next day in the same arena - especially if sun suddenly comes in through the windows and throws long shadows
