I recently recorded my sisters horse in the stream at the bottom of our field. He has been in this field for year but I found this video very odd, funny but strange. I was wondering if he was just playing in the water or if there was any other meaning/method to what he was doing?
Please take...
Hello,
I have recently purchased a 14 month old yearling filly (arab x welsh) a couple of months ago. It is clear she hasn't had much handling which I suppose can be looked at in a good way and a bad way. She is genrally very quiet natured for a youngster and doesnt have a bad bone in her...
I recently bought a yearling and tried to introduce her to my two other gelding's the other day and the 'boss gelding' was done when I put her in the field with just him but as soon as the other gelding was out out, the boss was seemed to be very protective over him and was chasing and biting...
Oh lovely! And her tail is shorter and more 'fuzzy/curly/foal like' hope that makes sense! Ha..
I will put a picture on tomorrow to show you :D
I have wondered about her age myself though as you can't just trust the guys word ..
Brilliant advice guys thanks!
It makes perfect sendmse with the hay being on the floor so will do that from tomorrow.. I did actually double net the haynets and I did do this as I was worried with the speed she was eating and possivly going from nothing/very little to wolfing hay could be a...
And yes she has landed on her feet.. she has the crowd of dog walkers to thank that herded her into my field!! Shes so sweet natured.. this may change when she gets her energy levels up though! :D
Well, I'm not sure to be honest! I've kind of gone into this with my eyes half shut! ha.. I need to get reading up on how to tell with their teeth etc.. I would hope she isn't much older as I would like to do something with her in a couple of years and would need her to be 15/15.2+ ideally :/...
Here are a couple of picture of her at the moment:

Thank you all so much for the advice, it is all very useful.
I'm thinking of doing one of those feacal worm egg counts to begin with and if i'm right that they will advise what to do next in terms of worming.. if not I will get a vet out to have a look at her to advise on quantities.

Help!
I have recently taken on a yearling filly. Currently standing at 13.1hh
She had been loose on the roads and bridle paths for over a week (which the owner knew about).. when the owner (dealer) came to pick her up I didn't want to let her go back to him as she is in a bit of a state...
Thanks for your replies.
And I wont lie to you, that thought has crossed my mind!! There isn't anyone riding/looking after him at the moment so no one should be trimming them! To be honest they haven't changed much since they first mysteriously vanished, so probably not.
Its so strange...
