Hello,
I have been having some trouble with my horses feathers.. last September I noticed my horses feathers have disappeared! It looks like they had been cut/shaven off (u.-tidily).
I have absolutely no idea what had happened and did initially think it was a girl who had rode him a few days before so I was obviously fuming.
However, since then it has now been 10months and there has been no change. There are no signs of any mud rash, dandruff/scabs (so no mites), and he doesn't stamb or itch his feet that I know of. He Has since had allergy problems and turns out he is allergic to around 10 different things which he is receiving injections for. I have spoken to the vets and they don't have a clue and said the injections or allergies wouldn't have caused them to stop growing or come off in the first place.
Not sure of his breeding but he is a native type. He doesn't have huge thick feathers but they did grow to the floor and cover half of his hoofs (kind of like a freisian). He is perfect for mountain and moorland class but not in the state he is now.
I will try and upload pictures when j get the hang of this forum but has anyone else had this trouble!?!?!?
Many thanks in advance, Rachael.
