I totally nailed it.
It was about half way through when they started telling me more details about the apprenticeship, and that I could have it if I wanted!
I was so dang excited. Thank you to those who gave me tips! I feel like they really helped out.
I'm starting next week, and I can't...
Jods have too much material at the bottom to wear with chaps, so you'll need breeches with both.
Personally, I prefer chaps and paddock boots. More movement and comfort.
Yesterday I went in a shopping spree, and got myself a new pair of paddock boots and half chaps.
I originally wanted some synthetic leather chaps, but they didn't have a very big size range and being a bigger lady makes larger sizes a must!
I had a look for some that fit, and all they had...
Thank you all for the helpful tips!
I went out today and bought some beige breeches (I thought my two tone jods would give the wrong impression!). I really love them, and I feel like they make me look more professional.
I guess I just have to go in and be super friendly and try to get along...
I've applied and interviewed about an apprenticeship, where there's 2 spaces and 3 applicants in including me.
I'm hoping for some tips for my trial day that will make me stand out from the other two, so I can be offered a job.
I don't know what they're going to be looking for, whether...
I'm going for an interview at a riding school tomorrow for an apprenticeship.
They have about 20 horses, and a few liveries.
My question is, are there any techniques for remembering which horse is which?
For example, if I'm asked to go get ___ from the field, and put him back in his...
Well, I'm certainly not slim. I have rather thick ankles, but I wear jodhs with tall country boots around the yard.
I'm probably going to go for some half chaps, I feel like I'll be more comfortable in them. Although I can try on both at the shop, and decide there.
Once I decide whether I...
I didn't mean anything by it!
Where I ride I seem to be the only person above the age of 14 in jodphurs. They were also a little hard to find in adult sizes, so I just assume.
But thanks all, I'll probably get some half chaps.. if I want to get more serious with my riding, I'll probably invest...
Which ones?
Not competing, I'm just taking riding lessons weekly..
I want to start wearing breeches, because I've noticed it's younger riders that wear jodphurs.
I have a pair of paddock boots, and I am not going to splurge on some tall boots.
I like the look of the half chaps, they...
Are there any decent cob providers around the East?
I'm going to be moving to Bedfordshire, and I'm looking for a selection of heavyweight cobs.
I've found one called Clover Barn, and they look good.
Are there anymore?
Or am I better off finding a private seller on somewhere like...
Be careful in leggings.
The first few times I was on a horse they were in my favourite leggings..
Sadly, I had to throw them out due to holes all along the inside seams.
Jeans rub, but leggings rub away and deteriorate.
They're okay for one lesson but make sure they're thick and not...
There's a lot of liveries in chertsey/lyne area and loads in cobham, but I'm not 100% sure about riding schools..
To list a few:
Billz equestrian (cobham)
Poynters riding school (cobham)
Lowerfarm stables (cobham)
Silvermere equestrian (cobham)
I believe most of them have livery...
Any decent riding schools (catering to adults) near Chertsey, Surrey?
Preferably within 5/10 miles.. 15 miles at the most.
Needing a weight limit of 15st, and preferably prices that are not £50 for half an hour!!
Also one that offers hacking.
Been to Laris farm a year or two ago, didn't enjoy...
