Just treated my horse with spot on a couple of days ago. She looks massively happier already and has stopped trying to kill any other horse that is daft enough to come near. Looks promising.

Thanks Dianchi. Think I might wait till the sores have dried up and try this anyway. I'm a bit worried it comes back after the antibiotics wear off and this is worth a try.

Does the frontline go on top of the sores or do you wait till they've come off before you apply it?

Hmmm. Don't think they've done that. I'll ask them to do so although you would think they might have thought to try that! Can you really get such a severe reaction from these mites?

They've taken a biopsy - isn't that the same thing? Should get the results towards the end of the week.

She's stabled at night and out through the day. Lets hope it remains a mystery for all of us. Bloody aliens!!!

don't get them till the end of the week by which time she could be in a really bad way. Am I right in thinking the treatment is steroids?
