    Would you muzzle?

Definitely muzzle. Our dartmoor has a muzzle on already, she was starting to show weight gain and is a very good doer. At least being muzzled they can still be a horse and graze for a good amount of time.

What's the best treatment you've used on mud fever?

Try and get as many scabs off as possible without damaging the skin. Smothering legs in olive oil then wrap in cling film and bandage over the top over night, this should soften the scabs enough they will peel off. Don't repeat this process too often as it will trap infection in. Boots athletes...

Help! Advice needed on daughters pony

Please note 'little legs' children having small legs are not the problem, ponies being ponies are the problem, most will take advantage of having a small person on board. School masters are very hard to come by, unfortunately a lot of small children have to learn to ride with a more difficult pony.

Sweet itch - in at night or during day?

Get some benzoyl benzoate off the web. My mare suffers quite badly, she stays out as she rubs like mad if left in, but this stuff works a treat! Also keep rug on 24/7 a regular bath with tea tree shampoo (human stuff) should help any scabby bits.

Trying to find a decent LR/FR pony is it really this hard???

'Perfect' ponies are few and far between! I would stick with the pony u have and encourage the 7 yr old to ride it as much as possible off the LR. I have an 11.2h dartmoor mare who is a complete cow, has sweet itch but my 6yr old can canter her in an open field through woods and take her round a...
