Anyone used CBD oil for appetite / mobility?

Oh that's interesting, everything I've looked at so far suggests it stimulates appetite.

Yes sorry I didn't want to overcomplicate the post by adding too much information. He's an old man with a few comorbidities bless him.

Anyone used CBD oil for appetite / mobility?

Yeah I figured it would be but the galliprant doesn't appear to do anything really. If it's something that could work I'd discuss that with the vet. No we haven't been offered another medication - galliprant was advised as it's least likely to affect his ckd. To be fair this was before I...

Anyone used CBD oil for appetite / mobility?

Yes he's on galliprant - can't say it makes a noticeable difference but there's also a neurological element to his back end movement. (At this point I should mention the usual caveat - any changes and adjustments will be discussed further with my vet)

Anyone used CBD oil for appetite / mobility?

I have an elderly dog that has always had a poor appetite but has been put on a prescription diet which is less calorie dense than previous foods so although he is eating as well as usual, he has lost weight. Tried the usual changes of food and more meals, and he is in the best routine for him...

    What could this illness be?

Thanks all for your helpful responses. Having spoken to my vet (and given the time of year) we opted to go for a course of panacur for both dogs and if the symptoms then return we will do a stool sample. So far they finished the course a week ago and seem fine, so fingers crossed it has either...

    What could this illness be?

Thanks all, will sort a stool sample with the vets. It is very puzzling that they both have symptoms together, when they vomited Tuesday morning it was within 5 mins of each other!

    What could this illness be?

They've been on a prescription kidney diet since September so no food changes. No new dog friends. The poos were yellow in both dogs and their bloods in September were a senior screen so would have thought if a liver issue it would have come up then? No compost bins. They will scavenge food...

    What could this illness be?

Both of my dogs have been unwell over the last month and I am racking my brains as to why. Short version: both older dogs, have had vomiting and/or diarrhoea which clears up then returns over the last month. Have seen get, vet says no fever, well hydrated etc and likely a bug they are passing...

    Stallion recommendations please

Hi, I am finding it difficult to search for stallions in one place by characteristics (like you would for a horse for sale) so I'm hoping the knowledgeable group on this forum can help. Needs to be 15.1-16hh, plenty of blood (Arab, PBA, Anglo Arab, high % tb warmblood etc), chilled semen...

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH Powder // Net Ex feather mite

I've used it for feather mites and found it works brilliantly. The best way I found to use it is to wash the feathers, rub it in well when they're still damp then not brush or touch the feathers for a few days. After that one more dry application then you're sorted. Cheap, and chemical free.

Cold weather alert from met office

Well I'm in the South East right in the middle of the area that is apparently going to be worst affected, the lowest day time temperature predicted for the week (BBC Weather app) is 0C. Cold, but I cant see it worthy of an alert.

    Boycott Lemieux

Do you think the cheap fur produced by China fraudulently sold as faux fur was produced with anywhere near the sort of welfare standards that British farmed animals are? That is the difference, surely.

    vaccination woes

Use a different vet. I now have a needle shy horse because of a vet's poor technique, although she's improving every time she sees a vet it is still quite annoying that an experience years ago has caused such an issue.

    BAL and scoping

Yes, had a scope, TW and BAL done in the same session. It's not the most pleasant of experiences for the horse, even when well sedated. In my horses case it was to collect a sample of discharge relating to poor performance and increased respiratory effort. Diagnosis was eventually IAD.
