My Lurcher ticks all the boxes. Prey drive is far lower than my Whippet, but it is still there. I can just harness a bit more control...

Border whippet. Smarter/easier to train for better recall etc but with a great offswitch.

Our working bred whippet is tough and not at all fragile but also easiest to train and live with. 10/10 would never touch anything...

If you can get a deerhound cross something else lurcher, the ones I have had were usually extremely steady and obedient.
