I think that’s the option she would prefer as well!
I’ll be back over to visit family and friends too, so would of course be able to see her and even if she’s out of work for a year, pop on and take her for a walk if I really wanted too.
She does have very mild stringhalt and being kept...
Hello, it’s been a while!
I’ve applied for my masters in the netherlands, as the course is only a year I’m debating putting my lovely mare on loan rather than selling.
What should I look for in a loaner? Is a loan the best option? Am I better to just sell? Should I start saving up to bring...
What I paid for my horse 8 years ago in terms of livery is about a quarter of what I pay now. Albeit, I am now on full livery rather than DIY - with the cost of feed and shavings going up, combined with the cost of petrol, full livery works out around the same if not cheaper than DIY for me and...
Rest in peace Caroline. I can’t help but admire her for how brave she was.
Her letter hit me hard. I lost my uncle on Friday, who had a TBI and lost most of his bodily functions 15 years ago, similar to locked in syndrome. He couldn’t watch the sports he enjoyed on TV anymore, didn’t want to...
Thank you all for your lovely responses, I’m in Ireland so not sure how different it is here. I’ve been told the vet apparently arranges removal, not sure if the hunt is an option as I don’t know if many hunts here would have a use for him (in not the best wording) and he’s signed out of the...
Missed the coverage but have got myself caught up - delighted for Alice and Topspin and have loved watching their partnership. If there’s one horse I would love to borrow for a day to do some xc with I think it would be him, he looks like he’d look after you and I have a bit of a soft spot for him.
I’m also not the best at spotting lameness - I’ll tell you a sound horse is lame! and was half asleep watching this morning to be fair.
I’m assuming they’ve probably already done a preliminary exam and given him the okay for Harry to have already made a statement. Hopefully just some bruising...
He will have to be cremated, as I don’t have space for burial.
I would like to be there for him, and have a friend who I know will be able to come to support me.
He’s had a very good retirement, 6 years of living in a field and causing chaos, which is a lot more than most horses get in...
If I’m honest, from what I did see I didn’t notice a horse that looked very off until the finish. Can understand expecting the horse to be tired and thinking that’s all it was. If vets have said he’s okay then you’d assume it’s nothing major, maybe a lost shoe and horse feeling a bit footy but...
I’ll be interested to see if anything comes about from that by way of a card or warning. I wasn’t paying complete attention when watching, but the horse was clearly lame when he finished and surely Harry would have felt that.
Hello, been a while since I’ve last posted.
I’m not sure if many remember me with my little trotter cob who went very wrong a few years ago. He’s been retired since, and over the last year has had issues with locking stifles due to losing muscle and being a bit older.
He was moved to a new...
