Thanks for your reply you are the first person I have found that has had anything similar as a problem. I have been keeping him in but I cant do it long term plus he needs some turnout and because he panics even if it just starts a few gentle drops of rain I would have to be there all the time...
Thanks for your reply, I have wondered if its a noise problem and have tried riding in a mask and putting a fly fringe on to cover his ears but altho he gets frantic in heavy rain he also reacts altho less to just a few gentle drops which is before he can hear anything.
yes he has a pony for company and he is 9 and has always lived out this problem has been slowly getting worse since March when we had some awful hail storms but I didnt realise it was the rain causing the problems at first so have gone down the route of checking teeth, tack, alergies, moving...
My horse has become scared of storms, runs for cover when it rains and then is a nervous wreck until it stops has anyone ever heard of any horse being scared of weather?
