Thank you.
She is back up on her feet which is good and apparently they have managed to close the wound to about 0.5cm with stitches which is loads better than it was and now is on box rest for a couple of weeks.
I tried Manuka honey last time round but will probably try it again. I think...
Hi
My mare was kicked on the hock about 7 weeks a go, x-rayed and scanned and all clear. However the wound is not healing and she has gone in for an operation today to remove scar tissue and try and get the wound to close.
Does anyone have experiences of this kind of thing?
Many thanks
Hi All
Havent been on here for a while - work rather busy!
Interesting post and I have to agree with Kerilli, very tragic what has happened and it is sad that we are in a world of blame and litigation culture.
But we all no the risks involved with the sport and the ultimate...
Hi
Lovely horse and as people have said he looks behind the leg and is quite happily going around on a little jolly:)
Basically, i would do what santa_claus has said above, you need to think about quickening his hindlegs. Ignore his head for a while and work on getting him in front of the...
Hi
I have one of those equilibrium massage pads and i think it works wonders on my mare, who gets quite tense. I use it before and after and I can definitely tell when i don't use it.
They are quite expensive though, only downside. I got mine in a sale.
Thanks for all the feedback.
lol - yeah i do need to keep my backside in the saddle, bit of a habit.
with regard to the holding on believe me i have tried to let go, and am working on it the problem is as soon as you let go its like a pocket rocket and is off. Catch 22 as i was told i was...
Many thanks for the ideas. Will have to remember you are all very observant (i.e. wrong diagnonal lol).
Your both right she does like to be in charge and we've had a few tandrum moments over it, she is getting better and letting me have more of a say now than when that video was taken. I am...
Thanks she is really sweet, the problem is she is quite a tense little mare and if i wait for her to chill out we will never really get on with anything. To be honest i havent really jumped her since this vid was taken as wanted to work on the relaxation. So in the new year and when i can...
Well i think you and all your horses look fab and wish i could ride half as well.
Hopefully 2011 will be a good year for you all and Sarnie will back at her best.
I love little Ash by the way, he looks a lot of fun:)
Hi All
As everyone is feeling a bit short of competition reports, thought I would be brave and post a little vid of me and my mare doing a bit of jumping earlier in the year. This was one of her first sessions and I did post on here earlier for ideas to try and help slow her down a bit, but...
Hi I dont know if you have ever looked at any horses by the stallion Monte Carlo (freckleton stud), but I know a few people who have bought youngstock from them that have gone on to very well in the show ring and in the dressage ring.
Don't know what they have available but may be worth a look:)
