How to get back into riding after 2 years?

I earn 25k a year and have one horse on part livery. Ontop of my rent, food bills, livery, feed, farrier, vet and the rest, It's a struggle, I work behind a bar over the weekends to help have some emergency cash in my pocket. Maybe best getting a share as stated above?

Kent to Chester?? 7.5 tonne needed!

Can anyone recommend a good transport company who use 7.5 tonne lorries that could transport a young 17hh Warmblood gelding from Rainham to Chester? This gelding has only done short journeys in the past but has loaded and travelled well. He is only a baby though and is going to a new home so...

    Where do they find them?!

OMG I love Irish horse imports! The facebook page is mega tempting. He has quite a few in that are cheap at the moment then some more expensive ones.

    Where do they find them?!

So..I'm looking for a nice Irish horse to bring on to be my next event horse, I like to bring my own on as a bit of a "grow your own eventer" project, its all I've ever done in the past. However, prices right now are going crazy, especially off dealers who import from Ireland so I want to go...

    Whoops?

Start from scratch :) Long reining is best. My ex-racer is also part giraffe and I use a bit of knee, widen my contact and ride positively from my seat. This encourages him to work into the bridle more without asking for these fake outlines :)

Stuck on a Livery yard we don't want to be on!

And this is why I'm moving. They do not have enough staff for the volume of horses, the only way she could manage is if all her staff worked 7 days a week without a break. The staff are getting tired, lazy and uninterested in the job (Probably because they don't know if they will have one after...

    Too Little?

The thing with horses is I find they all mature at different rates. Some 4 year olds will be popping round 4 year old classes like they've been doing it all their lives. Other 4 year olds need a little more time being babies. Hacking is brilliant for muscle building and balance, WB are a big...

Stuck on a Livery yard we don't want to be on!

Yes but that doesn't mean she can get away with charging me for services I haven't used just because I'm not going to be there? She has done in the past yes, just small things like rug changes and taking off his overreach boots and putting them back on for turn out. Small things that the girls...

Stuck on a Livery yard we don't want to be on!

She was trying to charge me for services I didn’t use...like lunging my horse and rug changes that I did myself.

Stuck on a Livery yard we don't want to be on!

Update as promised! Spoke to YO! Although she is fine with me moving next week, she was trying to say my bill was more than it was! After looking over it with several people I have now worked out exactly what it is and paid her the monies due. Can’t blame her for trying but no one over...

Stuck on a Livery yard we don't want to be on!

I will update the thread when I have spoken to her tonight. Hopefully she is going to let us go and I just pay her until the 16th which would work out cheaper.

I hope I've just got it wrong, there is no logic to us staying if I'm willing to pay her. I will update the thread when I've spoken to her tonight
