    Aubiose Bedding? Or Wood Pellets?

Am still umming and aahing really!! Aubiose is nearly three times the price of wood pellets but a firm clean bed is what I am after. Perhaps a combination would be the best way forward.

    new conclusion, hay bars?

Mine shoves his hay out with his nose to 'pick through it all' if its loose. So it is in the bed, in the water bucket and all over the place. So I put a haynet in and lovely fellow livery has made me a 'shelf' that slots into the corner half way down. This means it is a much better eating...

    Aubiose Bedding? Or Wood Pellets?

My lad is PSSM and is stabled during the winter at night but has a corral off his stable. I am looking for a bedding that isn't going to be blown about like shavings so was thinking about aubiose? He is quite a tidy boy and oddly seems tidier since he has moved stables and has the back door...

    Quatro/Quattro Saddles

A friend is looking at one of these saddles which is a dressage saddle. I am not that convinced about the Y girthing at the back - but I am no saddler. Has anyone got any experience - pro's con's. It seems they went into liquidation in 2008. Just looking for any reviews really.

Balancers etc - PSSM 2 horses

Hi! Just wondering who feeds balancers for their PSSM type 2 horses? Mine was diagnosed through a hair test at the German lab. I had him on high levels of Vit E oil but he started to get very silly so have reduced it. He won't eat balancers because he won't eat chelated copper and zinc and...

    Ulcers!!

Thank you all!! fabbydo - he did have a load of scabby lesions behind his knees when I got him. I was not at all allowed to even touch his legs when I first had him as previous owner had used pig oil and sulphur and I suspect it nipped him as sulphur isn't always kind. I have used cetraban...

    Brave Pants or just sell

Young horses are often a pita - and almost always push boundaries but they do grow out of it - bit like the terrible twos or threes with children. I think its up to you really - if you really want to keep it then you just have to set down firm boundaries and potentially it will grow out of it...

    Ulcers!!

Great - thats what I have done - but fed the omeprazole later in the afternoon because he is fed up of eating hay by then and today did washing of legs etc, and an hour later fed the additional sulcrafate dose. Very time intensive, but determined to get it right for him!

    Ulcers!!

He has an awful lot to say now someone is listening!! But he does soon stop saying when you get it which makes me think I haven't got it yet. But as fellow livery mentioned today, with head shyness issues I worked on them constantly for a fortnight and more and thats all I did. With feet I...

    Ulcers!!

So thats what I did today - sucralfate first thing, then his feed with supplements, then gastroguard this afternoon and an hour after another dose of sulcrafate. Washed his legs after the gastro guard and started to do scissor destensitising for his feathers. He hates scissors anywhere near...

    Ulcers!!

Thats where it gets so confusing - they say that sucralfate stops the uptake of any other drug - was yours scoped?

    Ulcers!!

Thats really interesting - I saddled him for the first time today after 14 days on GG - the saddle going on is not the issue its the girth going on which is the bunching up issue and this is just as bad. He is better being rugged though - doesn't bunch up for that anymore. He also shot off...

where to purchase Barrie Swain semiflex saddle.

My friend has a Barrie Swain Madonna saddle for sale which belongs to her now retired horse. The Madonna was the precurssor to the semi flex and I think has all the benefits of both the holistic tree and the semi flex together. It is brown though I think. Is it for your bottom you need a 17...

    Ulcers!!

So really long story - but potted version!! Got my new lad end of December. He couldn't be touched or groomed without being uncomfortable or biting. Could take ten minutes plus to get a bridle on, dipped his back having a saddle put on. Wouldn't pick any legs up - he had shoes on three feet...
