I'm being a bit dim here. What do people mean about the potential thieves 'knowing' the dogs. Do you mean they handed them over and now want them back for some reason? There don't seem to be any terriers on the rescue's site, but some of the other dogs are quite interesting. There are a few...
They don't need to prove their innocence, they just need to prove that they've been libelled and their reputation damaged by whatever was written in that instance. "Everybody knows" is unlikely to cut it. In any case, most libel cases don't end up in court because retractions are made and...
One of my friends was in the Highlands once and went for a drink at the local pub. He was waiting to be served and became aware of someone standing next to him. He turned round to acknowledge his new neighbour, only to find an Irish Wolfhound standing on its hindlegs, its paws on the bar. A...
Thanks, everyone. I agree about just not putting the dog and the visitors in a potentially difficult situation, and am glad people don't think the glasses thing is crazy. Thanks for the book recommendation FinnishLapphund.
I have a dog behaviour question on behalf of my sister. She has a four-year-old husky/GSD cross, whom she rehomed at about 18 months. We in the immediate family are all completely charmed by her. She's very beautiful, super smart, easy to live with, and is excellent with the grandchildren...
The video with the Leonberger's owner is informative. She also had to go to court to get her dog back, and has had death threats because people thought it was her dog who was the culprit.
I'm afraid I can't see how what he is doing is any different to a scam. Is there nobody on the Facebook thread asking him what will happen if he doesn't sell enough tickets? Will they get their money back? Is there some mechanism by which people can find out how much has been raised for this...
I think what he's doing is probably illegal as it sounds like it's an actual raffle and he's not raising money for charity. If you know where he is based you could contact his local council and ask them to investigate it, as I think they issue licences for such things.
We discuss current affairs, not public affairs, which refers to government/official business, so not applicable in this case. A contemporary report of proceedings is just that - a factual account of what went on in court. That's what court reporters do. Proceedings should not be commented on...
The Mail has just gone through Stella's Instagram comments and made a 'story' out of it, a regular habit of theirs. Nice bit of promotion - Stella must be well pleased ;)
It says the horse belongs to Jean Francois Pignon, who appears regularly at Olympia/whatever it's called now. A very...
I came on to this thread earlier because I was looking to while away a few minutes as I ate breakfast and thought catching up on Rigs' adventures might provide me with a good read. I was so shocked to see that events had taken such a tragic turn and I'm very sorry for your loss. I really...
