It's really luck of the draw I think. Brother and Dad both have 4s, 1 from new and one 2nd hand but from LR with warranty. Both (touch wood)have been great cars, but Brother's previous 4 died far earlier than it probably should have and wasn't economical to repair at 150k.
I had to have mine PTS in October, and whilst I still have my retired girl, she's checked on numerous times a day so the time she takes from me is limited. I am able to ride a lovely ex-eventer as and when I please, and whilst my BD registration was still in place, took him out to do a few...
I've always been DIY and luckily my horses have always been good. When they were out together they would both wait until I was down after work. 6/6.30 at the time. Then old mare was turned away and other mare shared with a friend's horse. They're out in pairs, but have some that are out 24/7...
I had a hay bar for my TB mare and she was really good with it. I found she wasted more with haylage than hay, but on the whole it was great. Now I've put my friend's pony in my stable and she's good with it too.
It's so so hard Lauren, I recently decided it was time for my 9yro TB as she had a kissing spine diagnosis along with another undiagnosed forelimb lameness. She had options and was insured, but actually I decided against for numerous reasons. Do what is right for you and the horse, as others...
I have the Ideal Jessica and I worship it. Such a comfortable saddle and I have a tendency to perch, so would experience pain in that instance if it was going to cause any.
No absolutely not. Nothing to do with his ethnicity, or even his intentions for the horse? But purely a worry that there is not enough immediate experience to look after my horse well enough.
It’s a royal PITA having one that’s bad to clip, neither of mine are great, but one will stand rock still and hate every second with a twitch and the other will try and kill you. The second I have sedated IV twice a year and honestly it’s just peace of mind. Will get a good clip for the...
With sarcoids I don't think you can ever know. Mine has one which dropped off on it's own and has subsequently grown back but I haven't taken it further as in the 3.5 years I've had her it's not caused a problem. I would look to have it removed if I found more were growing.
I change in the car at the farm if too cold, or in the yard toilets. Our car park is sheltered and people can't see if the car is dark so no problem there. I couldn't get changed at work, purely because I have to walk through town to the car park, and whilst not adverse to going anywhere in...
It's really unfortunate this has happened to you. I always borrowed clippers before I got my own and was fortunate enough that they never broke, I am sure if you tensioned the bladed correctly and they were kept well oiled that it may just be one of those things. That being said, if I lent my...
I actually really rate my Amigo Lightweights. I have one which is ancient, and another that is 2nd hand as you can't turn down a good bargain!! I find they work well and fit well, I never have a wet horse unless it's absolutely bucketing, and to be honest I don't expect that from it.
