I too have an "easy" horse.I can take him anywhere, the beach, forest , open fields or to a show and I'm confident that he will not be silly or difficult to handle or ride. He loads every time to go home and I enjoy every minute of being with him!! Life is too short to have a battle, arguement or...
I agree with Custardsmum, powder and Thermatex wraps work very well for me and my horse. I prefur prevention rather than cure and use Keratex summer and winter as my horse can get scabs due to wet grass. I do find it ecomonical though, rubbing it well into the skin, a pot lasts me ages.
Forgot to say mine have rubber mats and are out everyday 6.30 till 5.30. I put down 2 bags of Meggazorb with 1 bag of Bedmax as the banks to start offwith in the 14.2s box. I add half a bag of each about every 10 days. It has mixed a bit but still easy to do.
I use Meggazorb with Bedmax as the banks on half of my 12x12 stable for a 14.2hh pony. I find this works very well, pony does not churn up the bed or disturb the poos so it's very easy to muckout. I just take the poos out daily and sweep off the dry to reveal the wet patches and take them out...
Agree, Keratex Mud Powder is very good.It is excellent at keeping the skin protected from wet mud or grass. I use it in summer too as my horse can get little scabs from wet grass. You should clear up all scabs first making sure the skin is healed then sprinkle a small amount on dry heels every...
I have the field option with a companion pony from WHW- ILPH that was. My horse was on his own and was unhappy. After serching, I found his pony as a companion only,he has similar requirements to my horse -restricted diet in summer ,is a good doer, unshod and a laid back attitude. He is fine left...
The test has changed in that the simulated road bit is the same all over the country and is done in an enclosed area. There are now a set number of manovers which have to be done and these are marked as in the driving test. Some elements are compulsory and have to be correct in order to pass and...
My friend has a LWB Terrano withIW trailer. She tows 2 16hh horses with 2 people and all the gear and it is brilliant and we live in hilly country with lots of steep hills with no space to get a run at them.
I wash off the mud with hose them put leg wraps on. In the morning I put Keratex Powder on his heels which is really good at preventing mud fever (my horse has very pink heels). This works very well for me.
My horse grts itchy too, it drives him and me mad sometimes! He never has any marks ,sores or bald patches on him just likes a good scratch on stable ,trailer or anything to hand!! This happens both summer and winter and although I think it is warmth related am not convinced totally. He is only...
I use Megasorb which I like very much. It really is very absorbant only slight drawback i've found is that it can build up in feet.Solved that by adding Bedmax on top and muck out every day. Excellent in the trailer as well. It costs £5.35 per bag and I get from an agricultural merchant.hope...
