I got my new horse back in December. He is 5, IDxWb, 17hh and knows it!
He was bought as a project from the field, seller explained he is bolshy on the ground and that proved to be true. The early days were spent doing ground work and he dragged me around a fair bit going to and from the...
I only do it that fast when I have to....work etc. it's nice to know I can fit it all in but day to day I do usually take longer or split the jobs between am and pm
I have five to do too...
Give 2 hard feed
Change 2 into turn outs
Empty haylage into piles in field
Turn 5 out one by one due to muddy slope and silly behaviour
2 nets each
1 water bucket each
Skip out deep litter shavings beds
Sweep yard
Step muck heap
Re-cover hay and...
That's a really good idea and a cheaper option! Provided my little Peageout 107 is up to the job :) will definitely be cheaper to buy/make a more suitable harrower.
Thanks for the ideas people! I knew it was worth asking :)
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way to level my sand school?
We have a harrower but it's pretty useless and now doesn't attach to the tow bar on my friends 4x4. The fact I don't have anything with a tow bar also makes it difficult. I know I can rake it by hand but was...
I'm having my new horse fitted in the next few weeks. He's 5 and WBxID so a bit of a unit. Also appears to be bum high at the moment and as he has been off work, he will definitely change shape. He is a project horse so I haven't ridden him yet....he is having time off until saddle fitted. I'm...
I've been wondering the same thing. This is the first year I have managed my own land and frankly my winter paddock is scaring me 😳. Have been told not to give in and leave them there until end of March (they have haylage in field).
The gateway is verging on dangerous, not helped by it...
Thank you all for your replies. It's nice knowing people understand...Facebook isn't always the place for emotional outpourings so lovely to come here and hear other 'horsey' people's experiences.
I wish he had the chance to meet the new mare...so much so that I considered delaying it (the...
On Friday, at 10am, I said goodbye to my old friend. He had a tough year with two nasty injuries rendering him off work a lot. The Pastern injury never fully came right. He was arthritic and lame and the time was right. The day after I booked the hunt he came in more lame then usual and just...
You can place Sellotape over the anus and send it off for testing. They count the amount of eggs present in that area by how many has stuck to the tape!
I just went with when he stopped itching. It took some time. I even put and extra ivermectin wormer up his bottom in the end and used the...
