Why do some people have horses.

While I feel like defending myself here is pretty pointless, what do you expect her to do? Call the Garda and wait the hour it would take them to bother to show up? They would have done what exactly, its HIS horse. Try and get in between him and the horse? I mean the guy hit his own father none...

    Where does your dog sleep?

Mine usually starts off on the floor in his bed, but by the end of the night is curled up by my feet on my bed. It's lucky he's only small or I'd have no room between him and the other half. Fluff ball dog makes a great hot water bottle though.

    Companion conundrum - ideas please

You'd probably be better with a smaller pony or Shetland than goats, I find them a lot of work as cute as they are. Perhaps a donkey? There are usually plenty of them in rescues needing a home.

Why do some people have horses.

Honestly he didn't know until he went back up to the yard, I wish I knew what set him off. I can't imagine why he'd agree to a trial knowing she had health issues, the only explanation the yard and I have come up with is perhaps he figured I was a bit naive but a soft touch for a poor horse...

Funniest Names You've Called Your Horses

One of my mum's lesson ponies is called goose. The only one we let my dad name and that's what he came up with.

    Not today, thanks!

Aw lovely muddy roll! It's usually when you need them clean the next day they give themselves a good muddy scrub.

Why do some people have horses.

No just TB's. No goats as far as I saw! Troll. Seems to be a popular accusation. Delete the post if it's out of place, I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Why do some people have horses.

Sadly not...just seems to be a crazy man. equi- The yard owner did just call me to say when he went back for the mare and led her out the horses hips were very clicky. So maybe thats why.

Why do some people have horses.

So a week ago I was approached by someone looking to sell a mare or this horse would be shot as the owner had no use for her and wanted her gone. So, I viewed her and agreed to trial her as she seemed nice and had barely anything done bar being backed. I spoke with her owner and arranged for...

    More revelations on AHAR

This place, ugh. A friend of mine who fell on really tough times had to give up her husky for his own sake, he was always VERY well cared for and went to AHAR happy and healthy. It broke her heart. But what was worse was when a few weeks later a picture of the dog popped up all skin and bones...

    WWYD ?

I had a pony as a teenager that everyone wanted to buy, she was good as gold, forward but safe and carried herself wonderfully, I won a few shows on her, she was perfect. Until someone else got on her back, then she was either a bolting, bucking blur of black fury or ran to the corner of the...

    Have we got it wrong?

Having taught people to ride for many years I tend to think a good lot of "underlying" physical issues are caused by poor riding. Watching a horse under someone with a correct seat and hands ride VS someone who just doesn't care to ride right (or learn how) the difference is staggering. I...

    radio overnight for horses

We used to have a quiet radio on the yard, more for the staff while they mucked out and did the usual routine but also to help acclimatize the show ponies to various noises, it always got turned off at the end of the day though, I can't imagine the horses would have liked it left on all night.
