My youngster was like this and it became apparent he'd been ear twitched. I put the bridle on in bits - got one with clips for bit. Rewarded small steps. Took awhile but I can now bridle him normally. Paitience is key. Good luck
I have a horse because I love riding. I am not Lady-Manyacres. I cannot justify keeping a horse at livery that I cannot ride. My horse is 11 years old and thrives on work. He wouldn;t happily retire out at grass. I think it's clear what I would do. Do I love him? I absolutely adore him and...
Mum has missed her true vocation - she should be in Rio right now showing our lot how to win medals.
Fantastic report and really great pics - brought a smile to my face. Looks as though Mum and pony were going to part company in pic 2 where Mum jumped the bigger of the two!
This - 100%. Other thing that galls me is the assumption that YOs' should and will put up with continuously late payment to the point where the livery clears abit owing but never gets up to date - therefore acting as an unpaid borowing facility. the YO on my former yard threw you out if you...
That speaks volumes - before you even get to the financial considerations.
IMHO 8 is very young to be retired and he may still potentially be in pain despite the lack of ridden work.

from my office window - they are very chilled just picking at grass in a carpark, runway not a million miles away. My own horse would have expired from fright by now.
Hope they have a safe trip - it's a long way to Brazil.
It's not just horses - it's a clash betwen what your priorities are, their priorities and also their general attitiude. It happens if you have dogs (no, he can;t be left on his own for 12 hours while I schelp round the M25 to spend the 'day' with you at short notice) and children. 'Um, no, I...
