While my boy is in rehab and I'm not keen to push him for my competition aspirations in the future, I really can't part with him. This means I cant afford to buy but can offer a 10* competition home for a loan horse. However is finding a decent one that isnt ancient or injured impossible?? Where...
Not having a go! But please don't fall into the trap of pessoaing because the vets say so for KS... Not all horses work effectively in it... But of course some do!!
Mine had KS surgery and was told to pessoa him also... However he went awfully in it, curled at the poll and fell onto the...
To use the new pads you need to buy the new style leg strap. And if you buy a kit now you will receive 1 old style and 1 new style leg strap! (or I did)
I have been using the Arc Equine on my horse who has had KS surgery, and definitely think it has sped up the recovery! He came home less than...
Maybe its the training yard in maisemore I have heard people using/hacking to? Do you know the details?
How far away is Tirley from Hartpury? Could you give me some details please :)
I am a student at Hartpury College and have kept my horse onsite here for my first and now my second year. However with a lack of transport and many decent hack routes we are missing out on our fast work and gallops!
Apparently there are some gallops within hacking distance from Hartpury...
I agree with your trainer, anything that gets him engaging his brain to think about where he is putting his legs and getting him drawing his hindleg under, so polework, you don't have to have jumps as such, ground poles and mix it up with slightly raised poles and suchlike will be great.

I would definately go for the 20x60 if you can. I feel it makes all the difference having the extra space for schooling and jumping!
You having your own school, you lucky ****** :( enjoy it!
Interesting points people!
I honestly never even thought of getting a stud girth until my horse was actually using studs - I didn't see the point in what I thought as unneccessary equipment. But I see your points in if you want to use them for unshod horses that may give themselves a clout -...
It's been a while I didn't know the forums had changed and I totally got lost trying to post this thread :P
Can I ask if there is anyone here that uses stud girths for unshod horses or those not using studs?!
I have a normal girth and stud girth for my jumping saddle but only ever use the stud...
I keep my horse at university with me at Hartpury College which is fab, it's £67.50 a week, including unlimited hay/haylage and up to 5 bales of bedding a week, limited to no turnout though, but access to all arenas, hacking track, walkers etc. And access to Hartpury Therapy Centre (not incl in...
Does anyone know of any gallops available to hire in Cornwall? And how much?
Also wonder if anyone knows the restrictions on beach riding, when and where we can ride on the beach in Cornwall?
I have tried googling this stuff but just can't find anything.
Thanks! :D
Yes yes. I use a Polar Equine Inzone Heart Rate monitor and it's great. I got it from fitsense.co.uk and they're about £100 ISH!
Really recommend them. Here is a blog review http://strides-eventing.co.uk/2013/05/polar-equine-inzone-heart-rate-monitor/
