    Wellies

Another vote for aigle parcours. Had my first pair for 10 years (still have them, just slightly perished and no tread left but fine for a spare pair, and 2 years into my 2nd pair. I have the normal ones but you can get neoprene lining ones. I just use fleece welly socks when cold. They are...

Barefoot people - how many self-trim?

Those of you that tidy up your horses feet, what do you use & where do you get it from? My youngster is currently not in work & barefoot & trimmed by farrier as he does no road work to speak of yet. I want to keep him bare foot (hairy coloured cob) but just wondered what others use to keep feet...

Can magnesium work within two days?

Not sure, but I think those calmers in syringes can be given a few hours before you need the effect to take place - they contain magnesium so I would guess it takes effect quite quickly?

News on my boy - could it have been ulcers and not KS?

Could you try an RSTor or make something similar yourself? I've not used one myself but know quite a few people who have and they come highly recommended. Think they are about £45. I'm tempted myself as my boy can very occasionally throw his toys out the pram or get excitable and I don't bounce...

Hi-viz tabard - slogan ideas needed!

Well it says something along the lines of not endorsed by the police and as I've got an old plain one hanging around thought I could put it to good use as I never hack out unless I look like a Christmas tree!

Hi-viz tabard - slogan ideas needed!

So, as we're not meant to be wearing our "polite" tabards (which I've found to work very well - but ho hum) I was thinking of having my plain hi-viz printed with my own slogan - so, who has any good ideas that will make drivers slow down, take note and not get me into trouble!!

    LeMieux Half - Pads? Opinions?

I've got a couple of the lamb skin ones and they wash really well and stay very fluffy and soft. Much softer than sheeps wool. Just becareful that your saddle still fits as they are very thick. Lots of people seem to forget to tell Saddlers that they will be using a thick numnah and then blame...

    Muck heaps and water courses..

The environment agency deal with pollution entering watercourses. It is illegal to allow runoff to enter rivers/ stream/ even dry ditches. So even if the actual heap is located more than 10m away, runoff should not enter water courses.

    Selsun Shampoo for Mud Fever?

I've just been treating mud fever over the past few weeks and with a combination of Nizarol shampoo, aloe Vera gel when stabled and pig oil when turned out (without sulphur) the mud fever has almost gone. I haven't picked scabs so there's no open wounds. I have hosed mud off everyday (it falls...

Where to buy flowers of sulphur powder?

Yes, don't worry, will skin test. He's not actually got very much pink skin, just the very bottoms of his hind heels and isn't normally prone to being a softie, but ill make it up quite dilute to start with and see how it goes. Thanks again.

Where to buy flowers of sulphur powder?

Having managed to keep a pink skinned ned pretty much mud fever free for 3.5 years he has managed to get it as the fields have just been so wet and we're on clay so it just hasn't drained away out of the gateways. Can anyone recommend the best place to buy sulphur? I'd rather buy it as...

Saddle suggestions for wide flat backed pony

Thanks for all the replys, I'll look into throwgood ones. I did think about treeless, I've sat in a barefoot a few years ago and felt very unstable in it (more so than bareback !!) but that was only for 5 minutes as I felt almost seasick in it! I'll ask around some friends and see if they...
