We bought a non-raced TB mare who had been bred and part owned by Desert Orchid's trainer, David Elsworth. She was sold because one of the other owners died. Until then she had been redirected to be a broodmare.
.
Her minus points: as a filly she couldn't even enter certain of Dessie's races...
Just to boost your hopes.
Our young rescue dog drooled in the car on the drive and then was sick within 100 yards of the house! We treated him like a horse, numerous short journeys round the block and a treat at the end. It worked. After a couple of years we had a family emergency meaning we...
A sheep's ambition in life is to die in the most interesting way possible. A grass bank of any height would not have presented a challenge to any of our Soays.
The Austrians I used to know swore by Dr Cooks, they lent me one which my newly broken IDX accepted quite happily. Unfortunately they needed it back and at the time I couldn't afford a brand new one. Definitely worth a try imo if you can find a secondhand one.
" Although it was strange not having the usual theme tune which has been around forever" .
That theme tune is Mozart's "Musical joke" I use it as my ringtone.
Personally I found the programme too much of a bit of everything. I'm sure they could have mad it a two or three part series.
Thanks for the reply. The link took me to a pay wall for €19.90 so €2 was a con.
I'll not be subscribing tonight as the fibre is down and is not expected to be repaired until 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Did you pay the fee? If so how much please?

Thank you. That would make sense. The Camarguais bulls certainly seem to know what to do when being needed through the streets of places like Aigues Mortes. The vidéos have been widely published this year, amongst the best was one where a bull self loaded at trot onto his trailer. If only my TB...
We moved countries so that forced a change in the rhythm of life.
Some things here in France are very bad etiquette, or impossible, if you want to do them at the wrong time of day e.g. grab a baguette at 1 p.m.= too late the boulangerie shut for lunch at 12.30 and won't reopen till 16.30.
The nearest trotter training yard has recently changed hands. We drove past yesterday and about 20 horses were out grazing and a small van was driving slowly round its track.Nothing unusual there..
What astonished us was the trailer attached to the van. I cannot find one on Google but it had...
In 1971 I used to work for rides. Come Sunday afternoon it was common to turn the horses out for rest day Monday, so I'd ride one bareback and lead 2 across the A1. Maybe not a good idea now.
I retired from the Civil Service a year after I reached pension age 14 years ago. At the time my health was just slightly better than crap. We and the horses moved to France.
Plus points of retirement (excluding expat related things):
A guaranteed income for life: even civil servants can be...
