The nearest trotter training yard has recently changed hands. We drove past yesterday and about 20 horses were out grazing and a small van was driving slowly round its track.Nothing unusual there..

What astonished us was the trailer attached to the van. I cannot find one on Google but it had been designed as open metalwork (rather like a horse walker) with the capability of taking 10 or maybe more. more horses attached . The horses were all trotting along quite happily and in step.

Obviously trotting 10 together saves on human labour training each individually but I wonder how long it takes to attach them to the trailer and then detach at the end. Also how do they judge how keen the horse is?
Has anybody any knowledge of this?

A similar system can be used to exercise bulls, generally on the back of a tractor.
Thank you. That would make sense. The Camarguais bulls certainly seem to know what to do when being needed through the streets of places like Aigues Mortes. The vidéos have been widely published this year, amongst the best was one where a bull self loaded at trot onto his trailer. If only my TB had been trained to do that.
