I use a "thinline" pad for a sensitive mare and it has been great and doesn't cause as many issues with saddle fitting due to her big shoulders and no withers as a thicker wool pad would. There are some research articles and tests around on these. Definitely worth spending a bit extra in my opinion

I do have one that I love and used it on a couple of horses BUT I am continually having to adjust padding for my funny shaped welshie. I am keeping it for jumping but looking to get a tree saddle for dressage as it has just bit too much twist in it.

Thanks all. Hopefully got some lined up to try including the k&m cob dressage. Also had a suggestion of wintec arena but they seem very new so no 2nd hand ones and the new price is nearly £1k which o find excessive for a synthetic.
