Micklem bridle rubbing my horses ears...anyone had this?

I thought about the browband so I've put a bigger one on...I could make it tighter on the top strap, so that it pulls it off the ears but I don't know whether its OK to have it tight around her jaw? The leather is rubbish, you are right...I could get some fluff but i don't really want to go...

Micklem bridle rubbing my horses ears...anyone had this?

So annoying. Anyone else had this issue? He recently had his bit changed to a universal, could the poll pressure be doing it? Thanks

How to get my horse to jump

My horse was seriously scared of jumping in the beginning. She was scared of the gap under the poles, the poles being underneath her, and then when she got used to all of that she was scared of fillers. However, now, she isn't scared and she jumps everything. Get a trainer. Perseverance...

    Bitless bridles in BSJA?

Are they allowed? I know you're allowed a hackamore, but I wondered about the Micklem or Dr Cook? Thanks

Winter Turnout: is that happening to everyone?

Hmmmm it seems like A LOT of people are still turning out. I thought it was just in the South East, but now when I'm driving about I spot every single horse in the field (as you do) and think 'They're out!!) What do people think of full livery yards? Do they usually have all year turnout?

Winter Turnout: is that happening to everyone?

This looks ideal! I worry about them being bored without a field to mooch about in, having said that they look quite happy in the school today. I wish they could speak, then I could just ask where they would prefer to be! 😜

Winter Turnout: is that happening to everyone?

Love the crazy horse picture! Can I ask what areas you are all from? The advantage is that I also have sole use of the sand school so I leave a course I jumps and poles out most the time. It sounds petty but if I move and have to put jumps away each time a jump or do pole work it adds a lot...

Winter Turnout: is that happening to everyone?

Having been told at the start of the year we could turn out all winter 8-5, the farmer who owns our two stables and fields has gradually got us down to just two days a week! He is then surprised when the gallop around on those two days! ANYWAY I was thinking of moving to another yard for next...

Pro competes your horse: what do you do with the winnings?

Pro competes your horse: what do you do with the winnings?

Thanks Gunnergundog. Yeah I clearly wasn't referring to my own horse, I was just interested in what riders and owners actually do at top level. I just want my rider to build up my mare's experience and keep her ticking over so I definatey don't want her blasted around. Does anyone else use a...

Pro competes your horse: what do you do with the winnings?

So how to the top riders run it with their owners? When they are competing for £250,000, how do they owners make any money if the rider keeps the winnings?

Pro competes your horse: what do you do with the winnings?

Ah ok. Yeah I imagined I would need to have a chat with her but I wanted to get and idea of what was reasonable. I will pay entry, and transport my mare there and back and pay the riding fee?
