As an ex veterinary nurse I’ve never met one I would trust. But to be fair I was only seeing them in that setting.

Agree with just using turnout as a stable rug. As long as horse is dry underneath no need to change. All I’d do is just undo to check underneath and put back on just so you can ensure it’s comfy.
