Yes i have public liability insurance on the pony and an umbrella policy on the farm which covers the field he was in, and yes the police were called when it happened. Thanks for the replies, i did think i would be liable to be honest, i feel awful :(

A few weeks ago my pony managed to escape his field and ran out onto the road where he was hit by a car and died on impact. The car was a total write off but luckily the driver was realitively unhurt. Will i be held liable for any damages o the car and driver? Never had this happen before and...
