How do you use Stinky stuff?

I put on a pair of those disposable gloves and scoop some of the stinky stuff out of the container and put it into a little tub with some of the oil in, then mix it up with my hands and put it straight on. Then take the gloves off and bin them and I just have one dirty pot and no mess :)

Stinky stuff, has anybody had any experience with this product

Used it on my pony's mallenders after trying anything and everything else for 8 months - was about to give up and get the vet out but a friend lent me her stinky stuff and it was much better in just three days and is now completely gone. No idea whats in it but it definitely worked for us, and I...

    Genius hay feeder idea!

I did this with my mare when the council were doing a special deal on them...first she flung it round her stable so I drilled hooks into the wall and tied it into the corner. Then hay started getting stuck in the back half as the bottom is wider than the top, so I made a hay ramp inside it using...

Fly rugs for the broader of shoulder horses.

I've had to extend the chest of my derby house fly rug to fit around big shoulders :/ I have the pink rainbow weatherbeeta fly rug too and that fits his shoulders in fine with no rubbing :) I think it cost me around 40-50.

    Well I'm baffled...

Found a rusty horseshoe in my horse's bed this morning with a nail sticking out of it. He's unshod and so are both horses on either side of him. Spent all day wondering how he managed to bring it in and the best i've come up with is either he stood on it on our hack last night and brought...

How do you store your rugs??

Sick of having a big messy rug pile where the rug I want is always at the bottom :rolleyes3: I like the rug racks that go on the wall (would have to ask YO though) and have heard of people keeping theirs in old chest freezers :D I don't have the original bags anymore but that may have been a...

Dumbest thing a supposedly clued-up horse person has told you?

Isn't sugar beet low sugar because its just the pulp left after the sugar is extracted?

are your horses shod or shoeless and what do you do with them?

Barefoot. Hacking, schooling, roadwork, dressage and a little jumping. Have to go slowly on the really stony ground, but never had any problems with being barefoot so probably wouldn't go back to shod again.

    Boots in the field

I have never booted for turnout as I always thought the horses would end up with overheated legs and I wasn't convinced the boots would keep mud out and just generally like my horses to be horses and naked when turned out. However I now have one with an allergy to grass who must be covered...

Any other ways to trace old owners? Please help!

Hi :) I've had my piebald gelding for a year and he is amazing :D I'd like to trace his breeder or previous owners to see foal pictures of him and find out about a scar he has on his neck. I have the name and town of the breeder, his microchip number, his IPSA passport number, I know...

    muckboot co. boots ...reveiws please?

I had the arctic adventure ones which lasted 6 months before splitting round the ankle and letting in water, but I never got cold feet and they were comfortable I wore them all day every day. Now I have the greta ones which are rubber up the leg too, so i'm hoping they won't split at the ankle...

    Should we buy another one?

I have read all 11 pages of this thread and I don't think anyone has given anything but advice, definitely don't agree with bullying. It can be hard to listen to advice when it feels everyone is suggesting what seems impossible I had lots of problems with my first horse, started with her...

Hormone supplement for mare your favourites

I tried frisky mare and oestress with no results. Used straight agnus castus and the difference was incredible - went from being a complete tart around all other horses and squealing, kicking and swinging her back end to people to not even being able to tell when she was in season and no moody...

    Horse eating jeyes fluid?

There's three horses and a pony on the yard i'm at who eat their beds (they don't get left much hay or get any turnout so they eat every clean piece of straw they can find :( yo has told them numerous times to leave them more/come up more but they don't). To try and stop them eating all the...
