Found a rusty horseshoe in my horse's bed this morning with a nail sticking out of it.
He's unshod and so are both horses on either side of him.
Spent all day wondering how he managed to bring it in and the best i've come up with is either he stood on it on our hack last night and brought it in on his foot (though I think i'd have heard it and he'd have felt unlevel) or he rolled on it in the field and it caught on his rug or tail
noone comes past the stables so I doubt it was a person throwing it in...
It didn't come in with his shavings and i'm pretty sure it didn't come in the hay especially as the hay comes from a farm with no horses.
Have checked every inch of him and no holes in him or his feet
I'm just glad he's not hurt himself and wish I had a camera in my stable
