I got some NAF DEET recently, and it doesn't seem to do anything, the horseflies are still driving us both nuts. Usually I make my own, but the recipie I used last year seems ineffective this year.

I get similar reactions to bites, and these days always keep some anti-histamines in the house. A frozen flannel is better than a cold flannel - I just get the flannel wet and stick it in the freezer for 20 mins or so. I use HC45 cream twice a day on any bad bite
