I hack out on the buckle once a week (apart from on the roads, as horse is a bit of a pain in traffic!), so about 2 hours of work sans contact. Only in walk and gallop, though - my ex-racer has yet to get his head around trot and canter on a loose rein.
Yes, perhaps 'cope' was a poor choice of words. What I meant was 'preferably benefit but at least not be damaged by' :p. He's nice and mature for his age, with a good attitude, which is why I thought he could benefit from the experience, but now I am wondering if he'd benefit even more from not...
That has really got me thinking... I have a 3yo which I was going to prep for BYEH/4yo classes next year, never doubted that he'd cope with it, but all of a sudden I'm not so sure!
I'm looking for a small private yard to rent in the BANES area, for 3 horses. They seem to be like hens' teeth! Does anyone know of anything, or where the best place to look is?
Thanks :)
Hmm. Not a great SJer, though - had 4 down in one of the ints.
I've always bought horses from studs, so this is all new to me. Didn't quite realise the cost of a ready made eventer, even a so-so one :p

Is this horse worth the better part...
She knows how to worm... and I know she understands the dangers of not keeping on top of worm burden, she's just got too many financial commitments, and is also really lazy and a terrible procrastinator. And I could say, 'right, I'm going to worm your horse and you can knock it off my livery...
has never been my strong suit. But how do I tactfully tell someone that I don't trust them?
I share a field with a friend - the field belongs to her and has her mare and my two geldings on it. I moved there because she needed a companion for her mare and had no money or time for another horse...
I think Oberon means that a horse's hoof is not just solid keratin like a human fingernail. It's an incredibly complex structure; only the outer hoof wall is made of keratin, and the health of this part of the hoof is just a small piece of the overall puzzle.
Besides, I'd disagree with you on...
