A quick and probably silly question but can you shrink a softshell showjumping-type jacket?
Bought an extremely cheap one on sale but possibly a size too big for me.
Stuck him in the field and left him to check out his new surroundings. I didn't want to be handling him too much for the first day as he was more likely to be spooky/excitable (as any horse would be in a new place) so letting him settle first seemed the safest and most fair way.
I feel like...
I'm looking for some good groundwork exercises for suppleness, flexion and relaxation.
My horse has some difficulty bending to the right and he improves greatly with serpentines and circles when ridden, but I'd like to encorporate more groundwork that focuses on this. I'm terrible at long...
I bought mine knowing he was moody, borderline aggressive at times, had multiple ridden vices and was a frequent windsucker (stress, not ulcers). He continued being dangerous and stressed at our first yard despite it being a laidback place. I thought it was just his bad past that made him like...
The first bite of his feed is always a furious one where he takes an exaggerated mouthfull and flicks it across the field. He's mardy when it comes to feeding so I guess it's just him being his usual self, can't see any other reason why he'd waste food :')
Or on the other side, people who either let their dogs run ragged or have them yapping at the heels of horses they don't know!
I remember last year at a local show several frantic announcements had to be put out for an owner to control their loose dog who was terrorising the showing ring. If...
Only 5'4, have ridden from 12.2hh to 18hh and have yet to find a comfortable height (I either feel like the pea or the mountain, no in between!)
I have a 15.2hh
Kids galloping their ponies through crowds and in walkways. I nearly collided with a boy careering his pony in circles around a trailer once when there was a perfectly quiet warm up elsewhere, no apology he just galloped off. Same thing at another show, two girls racing side by side through a...
My 'dream' horse since I first started riding has been a 15.2hh dapple grey ISH gelding, around 6-8 years old. The fantasy was buying him for pennies and bringing him on to be my perfect horse.
That was forgotten when I got my first pony who was the opposite, however after a tragedy we lost...
Blue mens shampoo from aldi for white bits (Same result as those purple/silver shampoos) or a second vote for own brand. As long as it's patch tested first, as with any product, I don't see a problem.
Mine has lost about 95% now including the cat hairs on his stomach and back legs. He's still losing bits when he's groomed/scratched but he doesn't look like a yak anymore thankfully :)
