Shrinking a show jacket?

A quick and probably silly question but can you shrink a softshell showjumping-type jacket?
Bought an extremely cheap one on sale but possibly a size too big for me.

You could get it taylored, then it would both fit well and take the size down. Would only cost £10-15.

agree I would get it taken in by a good Taylor you will probably only need the seem each side taken in to make it fit you if it's only one size too big.
