    Bells on cats

Mine have had collars on since they were kittens so can't help with that. When buying them I always give them a test in the shop to see how easily they come apart. We have found several collars round the garden and one stuck on a fence so I would rather that they came off too easily than didn't...

Good Riding Boots for Short Legs?

Someone has already posted the link but I have Shires Norfolk boots. Took me months to find a pair as I have size 5 feet and short wide legs so won't even fit into childrens! Mine were cheaper than on the link though, think they cost about £120

How does your yard handle school bookings?

We have a whiteboard with a week drawn up onto it. Every day we have 2 hours where you cannot book the school, we also have an hour or two where only liveries are allowed to use it. Bookings are for half an hour each unless you have a lesson or there is more than one of you in there. We can...

Sixth form, work and horses (2)

I worked every Saturday from 8-5 and some Sundays with more in the holidays. I found it doable but only had a horse to think about from May in year 13 and that was only a few days a week. I did cut down on hours as exams came up though

My 7 month old border terrier way too overexcited on leash

Would you consider getting him one of those leads or jackets that say 'I need space'? I can't say I have any experience of them but they are always popping up on my facebook feed. Might aid in stopping people coming up and stroking him without asking

    FLEAS!! Best treatment??

We were recommended advantage and since using it as opposed to frontline I (touch wood) haven't seen a flea on out cats! You don't need a prescription for it either, although I have just read you don't want spot on and that's what it is... Alternatively treat the house and not the animals as...

    Probably a silly question... hairnets!

Thank you everyone! Hair decided to go into the net today :) my problem is that I have very thick hair all one length and medium length which doesn't like going into a bun at the best of times! I definitely couldn't get it all under my hat!

    Probably a silly question... hairnets!

Thank you everyone, I have just spent the last 20 minute trying to coerce my hair into a net and it managed to look ok. Hopefully I can do the same tomorrow when I am actually competing!

Anyone else want to shed some lbs?

Weighed myself yesterday and I have lost 3.5lb. Not very much but it is a start and I haven't been on track the whole time (hides the empty biscuit packet from this weekend). However I am definitely feeling better and I can see it in how my runs are improving. I am not trying to diet...

    Probably a silly question... hairnets!

I am competing next week (something I have not done much of!) in dressage and showjumping. Previously I have worn my hair in a bun and popped a hairnet on top and it sort of looked ok. But now I have a new hat (Charles Owen one with the low padded bit at the back) where I have to wear my hair in...

Anyone else want to shed some lbs?

*Hides* I went home for the weekend and ate lots of yummy food :( played netball on Sunday and seem to have done something to my calf so have been hobbling around and definitely not running! Hoping I will be able to get out tomorrow, failing that I will do leg bums and tums or go to the gym on...

Riding hat slipping up and down

I had a similar problem but I had my hat less than a year. I took it along when I went to get a new one fitted in the chance that they may be able to pad it out instead. This was not the case but it meant I could show the hat fitter my problem and not get the same one again!

Anyone else want to shed some lbs?

Scales arrived, I am just over 10st which is worse than I thought! Aiming for 8 1/2 as I am only a smidge over 5 foot although if I put muscle on and lose the fat I will not be too bothered about weight. Eating hasn't been great but it has been improved so I'm taking that as progress. Managed...
