Thanks, this is really interesting. Couple of questions, don't laugh! Did you peel the onion? Do you give the onion whole or do you chop it up and mix it through the feed?

    headshaking supps.... sucess anyone?

Mine was this bad and I even had to give up lunging as I just about got whiplash. He is on 100 preds every second day, nosenet, ear covers and fly spray. He is 100% ok in weather about 22 degrees and below. I find with the current hotter weather the symptoms are creeping back in but...

So whats wrong with Natural Horsemanship methods ! - Iam so happy

Nothing wrong with NH. Like all things it is how it is done. People need to realise that so much promoted in NH isn't new, and doesn't just belong to NH. TRAINING = TRUST, just food for thought!!!

    piriton

Beware of overdosing. Make sure you try the over-counter antihistamines in conjunction with your vet. Looking up the symptoms for overdose I found all sorts of side effects! I know drowsiness could be seen as a bonus (:)) but there are other effects such as heart arrythmia and the list goes on.

    Prednisolone

My horse is on 100 a day, he is 520 kg. He is on them for headshaking. Not sure if any improvement yet. Very expensive and not sustainable without insurance.:(

    Cashel mask - head shaking

Thanks so much for replying. So just to clarify, you have ridden in the cashel field version? I would be very interested in how you manage your horse as I am struggling at the moment. I know that the nose nets/masks are covering the problem, but I am struggling to find an effective...

    Cashel mask - head shaking

I am looking at trying a cashel mask for riding my headshaking horse(he is on other treatment as well). The 'quiet ride' version looks as though it doesn't block out much UV. However the field version is said to block out 70% UV. Does anyone use the field version for riding? I looked at the...

    Yearling loading issue, ideas?

In my experience I would rather a horse have been 'bundled' on to transport professionally/safely as a foal with its mum or as a yearling/young horse than not to have travelled at all by the age of 4 or 5yr old. It goes without saying that in doing this you must offer the foal/young horse a...
