My boy has been on the powder for a few years with fab results, certainly know when he's not on it! He has arthritic hocks. The powder form is the strongest I believe. I'm not sure if the liquid is that different, they often do a liquid form for fussy eaters as some of their supplements smell a bit!
My daughters horse had one on his nose today so I thought I'd try the "liquid soap" method, well I was astonished that it actually does work! Just put a decent amount of liquid soap on a cotton wool pad and cover tick for approx 15-20 seconds and it just comes straight off! Couldn't be simpler :-)
I don't know it personally but know someone who used to livery there. I don't think there is a school but hacking is fairly good, as for finding a number maybe try calling Blendworth Animal feeds? Will try and see if friend has number still as it's years since they were there! Do you need to be...
Mine are going out for 3 hours or so with haylage but are still being idiots and galloping round, all they are doing is churning up their field as the ground is not frozen under the snow :-(
My poor boy is covered in them at the moment, have no idea why, nothing has changed at all. He is wearing a fly rug all the time to help just in case its contact/fly related. He is bothered by them though and is really sensitive when you touch them, he also is not peeing so I have the vet coming...
I should also have added that I am around both ends of the day at the moment so not time restricted, my daughter is at college 3 days a week so is also around a fair amount of time too!
I wondered how you get to your horses and how far away they are? Are they on diy / assisted livery? How often do you use the help? I am considering moving mine as the field we have at present is just not working out and we need stables! I don't drive so we either have to walk or cycle...
I live in this area but can't find any spaces on yards that I know of! Does anyone know of one I may not have thought about, area needed is between Havant and Chichester, out toward country is fine, must have school and good grazing, thanks!
Am happy to say we seperated them this morning and both happily munching side by side on opposite sides of the fence, fingers crossed it stays that way!
No I haven't, ex racer is on thoroughbred calmer. New boy is very chilled most of time, he is happy to leave other horse but not to be left alone at field! Will look into it, thanks.
